Spirituality 11:11 - 11 Benefits, 11 Ways to Connect to it
Spirituality is not about religion. It is about a relationship with the divine, whatever that may mean to you.
Spirituality is also not necessarily New Age-y. You don't need to subscribe to any particular belief system or dogma to be spiritual. In fact, many people who consider themselves highly spiritual are actually quite sceptical of organised religion.
Spirituality is simply the recognition that there is more to life than what meets the eye and that we are all connected in some way. It is a way of living that allows us to tap into our own inner wisdom and intuition and connect with something greater than ourselves.
Why should you tap into your inner spirituality?
Many of us come to a point in life where we feel lost, confused, or unsure of our path. We feel we’ve made as many mental steps as we can and look elsewhere for inspiration.
That’s where many people find themselves starting to connect more with their spirituality.
Finding a connection to something outside of yourself (spirituality) comes with major benefits. Here are eleven of them:
- You’ll be more connected to the world around you.
- You’ll feel a sense of peace and calm.
- You’ll be less likely to experience stress or anxiety.
- You’ll be more in touch with your intuition.
- You’ll have a stronger connection to your higher self.
- You’ll be able to access guidance and wisdom from the Universe.
- You’ll be more open-minded and tolerant of others.
- You’ll be more compassionate and loving.
- You’ll be able to manifest your desires more easily.
- You’ll live a more authentic and fulfilling life.
- You’ll experience more joy and happiness.
How to connect with your spirituality
If you’re looking to become more spiritual, there are many things you can do to help yourself along the way.
1. Connect with nature
Spend time in the wilderness, surrounded by trees, plants, and wildlife. Let Mother Earth nurture and support you. You can do this by going for walks in the park, hiking in the woods, or simply spending time in your backyard.
This extends to connecting with the elements, too. Fire, water, earth, air, and ether are all powerful symbols of spirituality. Spend time connecting with each element and allow it to guide and inspire you.
2. Meditate
Meditation is a great way to still the mind and connect with your spirituality. It allows you to go within and access your own inner wisdom. There are many different ways to meditate, so find one that resonates with you and give it a try.
Alternatively, try other mindfulness meditation tricks such as:
-eating mindfully
-listening to music mindfully
-taking a mindful bath
3. Practice Yoga or Tai Chi
Yoga and Tai Chi are two ancient practices that help to connect the body, mind, and spirit. They are excellent for promoting relaxation, improving flexibility, and increasing strength and balance.
If these aren't for you, try another form of physical activity that connects the body, mind, and spirit. These physical activities help to connect you to your spirituality as you become more in tune with your own body and breath.
4. Connect with like-minded people
Spend time with others who are on a similar spiritual path. Share your experiences and learnings with each other. This will help to support and encourage you on your own spiritual journey.
5. Read spiritual books and materials that inspire and uplift you
Educate yourself about spirituality by reading books or listening to podcasts on the topic. This will help you to understand the concepts on a deeper level and learn new techniques to help you connect with your spirituality.
This will also help you to better understand what spirituality is and how you can incorporate it into your own life.
6. Keep a journal
Write down your thoughts and experiences in a journal. This is a great way to track your spiritual growth and progress. It also allows you to look back and reflect on your journey. The way you feel and how your thoughts influence your mood, actions, and path. You'll find there's a stronger link than you imagined.
7. Listen to soul-stirring music that touches your heart and raises your vibration
Choose music that has deep meaning for you and that helps you to connect with your spirituality. This could be classical music, sacred chants, or simply any music that brings you joy.
8. Connect with your animal companions and let them be a source of love and comfort for you
Animals are very intuitive creatures and can sense things that we cannot. They can be great teachers and healers if we let them. Spend time with your animal companions and allow them to help you on your spiritual journey.
9. Express yourself creatively through art, writing, dance, or whatever medium brings you joy
Creativity is a great way to connect with your spirituality. It allows you to express yourself in a unique and authentic way. So, get out your paints, pen, or dancing shoes and let your creativity flow.
10. Be of service to others. Volunteer your time and energy to a cause that is close to your heart
One of the best ways to connect with your spirituality is to be of service to others. When you give of yourself selflessly, you open up your heart and soul to receive the love and blessings of the Universe.
11. Give thanks for all the blessings in your life, no matter how big or small
Gratitude is one of the most powerful spiritual tools you have at your disposal. It allows you to focus on the good in your life and brings more of it into your experience. So, take a moment each day to give thanks for all the blessings in your life.
Cultivate your spirituality
When you live a spiritual life, you connect with something greater than yourself. You tap into a source of love, wisdom, and guidance that can help you to navigate your life in a more meaningful way. As you become more spiritual, you may find that your perspective on life changes.
No matter what path you take, remember that the key to becoming more spiritual is to connect with your authentic self and live your truth. When you do this, you’ll naturally start to feel more connected, peaceful, happy, and fulfilled.
